This wooden framed poster features my Tempestas ocean painting - a powerful crashing wave inspired by the wild waters around Anglesey. Tempestas is Latin for storm, and if you look closely at the scene, you can see across to the mainland from the island perspective of the painting. That glimpse of land on the other side symbolises the calm after the storm - a reminder that even the most turbulent seas eventually settle.
Created with acrylic and gouache, this piece blends rich hues of blue to evoke the depth, energy, and raw power of the ocean. I hope you find yourself lost in the waves when you look at it.
